Vice President Kamala Harris mark her 60th birthday on Sunday by visiting two churches in Georgia, as part of her campaign efforts in the final stretch of the U.S. presidential election. Harris attended services at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Stonecrest and Divine Faith Ministries International in Jonesboro, where she aimed to energize early voters and motivate congregants to exercise their voting rights.
At one of the churches, Harris was joined by the legendary musician Stevie Wonder, who made a special musical guest appearance. This visit is part of the “Souls to the Polls” campaign, which seeks to engage voters through gospel music performances and the involvement of national and state religious leaders, elected officials, and community members.
Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump took a different approach to his campaign. Trump spent time at a McDonald’s in Bucks County, where he handed out french fries to customers. This move was seen as a way to poke fun at Harris, who had previously claimed to have worked at a McDonald’s in her youth. Trump has expressed skepticism about this claim.
Trump’s visit to the McDonald’s was part of his broader campaign strategy to connect with voters in key battleground states. He also scheduled a rally in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, for the late afternoon, aiming to capitalize on what he perceives as a more favorable standing in the polls.
Both candidates are intensifying their efforts with just 16 days remaining until the November 5 election. Harris and Trump are focusing on states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Georgia, which are pivotal in determining the election outcome.
