Cole Palmer, the young and talented Chelsea forward, don explain why him dey celebrate goals with him signature ‘cold’ style. According to Palmer, this celebration be about showing the joy and passion him have for football. Him reveal dis in an interview with the Telegraph, saying it be a nod to his former City academy teammate Morgan Rogers.
Palmer, who has been in great form dis season, scoring six goals in seven Premier League games, say the celebration symbolise joy, passion, and hard determination for the game. “It’s funny as it works well with my name. Everyone knows it’s my celebration. Lots of people might have done it, but everybody knows it is my celebration,” him add.
The 22-year-old has been making waves in the football world, earning him a spot on the 30-man Ballon d'Or shortlist last month. Him express surprise but also huge honour at being recognised at such a high level so early in his career. “Winning it would be brilliant, and I believe with hard work and consistency I could get there,” Palmer say.
Under new Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, Palmer has found more opportunities to influence the game by playing centrally. “Playing centrally has given me more opportunities to influence the game. I enjoy being involved in the build-up and making key passes as well as scoring. It suits my style, and I think I can be even more effective there,” him explain.
Palmer’s impressive form has also seen him sign a contract extension that will keep him at Chelsea until 2033. “Chelsea feels like home to me, and I’m very excited about what we can achieve together. I’m fully committed to the club and its future,” him say.
