The Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) don recommend say dem wan expel former Governor Ayodele Fayose from the party because of his alleged anti-party activities and misconduct.
Dare Adeleke, the state PDP Caretaker Chairman, talk am during a press briefing on Sunday in Ado-Ekiti. He say the call for Fayose’s expulsion be because of his public endorsement of Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which dey embarrass the PDP and mislead the public about the party’s true values.
Adeleke explain say the recommendation for Fayose’s expulsion dey part of the submissions wey dem make to the Tom Ikimi-led Disciplinary Panel and the Olagunsoye Oyinlola Reconciliation Committee. He say Fayose’s actions, including his public support for Oyebanji’s second term bid, dey against the party’s interests and dey weaken the party’s cohesion.
Fayose recently talk on TV say PDP dey dead for Ekiti State, and he praise Oyebanji for his development efforts. But Adeleke say this kind talk dey mislead people and dey not represent the true values of PDP.
Adeleke also mention say Fayose don file four different court cases against the PDP caretaker committee within two months, which he believe be part of Fayose’s plan to weaken the party. He urge Fayose to officially decamp from PDP instead of openly supporting an opposing party.
Adeleke warn say if Fayose and his allies remain in PDP, e go be detrimental to the party because their loyalty no longer dey with PDP. He encourage all party members to remain focused and avoid any distraction that could derail their progress.
