De leadership of di Labour Party don demand di immediate release of their National Vice Chairman for di South-East, Mr Ceekay Igara, wey police arrest allegedly on di orders of Abia Governor, Dr Alex Otti.
Di party make dis demand in a statement issued by their Deputy National Chairman, Dr Ayo Olorunfemi, on Saturday in Abuja. Olorunfemi say Igara was arrested in Aba while him dey hold meeting with some party leaders when policemen surround dem and whisk him away without any warrant of arrest.
Olorunfemi state say, “Di Labour Party leadership dey completely shocked by dis development. We are, therefore, demanding di immediate release of Comrade Ceekay Igara from police custody.”
Alternatively, Olorunfemi call for di party official to be charged to court within di next 24 hours, as required by law.
