Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State don suspend the Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwalu Danladi Sankara, over allegations of adultery. The suspension happen after Sankara was arrested by Kano State Hisbah for allegedly having an illicit affair with a married woman in Kano.
The arrest was made possible through intelligence tracking by the Hisbah board, who receive complaints about Sankara’s relationship with the married woman. According to the Hisbah board’s Director General, Dr Abba Sufi, Sankara was caught in an uncompleted building with the housewife on Friday evening.
Sankara, however, deny the allegations, describing them as false, baseless, and malicious. He claim that the accusations were a deliberate attempt to tarnish his image and vow to take legal action against those responsible for spreading the false claims.
The Jigawa State Government set up a panel to probe the allegations against Sankara. The Secretary to the Jigawa State Government, Bala Ibrahim, say the suspension is a precautionary measure to facilitate a fair investigation and maintain the integrity of the state administration.
