Nasarawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) don announce their chairmanship candidates for the November 2 local government council elections. The announcement happen on Friday in Lafia, Nasarawa State, when the chairman of the party’s primary elections committee, Mr Tanimu Adamson, submit the exercise report to the party’s state executive.
Adamson explain say the party’s flag bearers emerge through consensus, as agreed by the party, in line with Article 20 of its constitution. He list the names of the successful chairmanship candidates for the 13 Local Government Areas (LGAs). Dem include Safiyanu Isa for Akwanga, Umar Dan-Akano for Awe, Jonathan Addra for Doma, Abubakar Madaki for Karu, and Adamu Aboki for Keana.
Others include Idris Damagani for Keffi, Bitrus Agbawu for Kokona, Mohammed Ahmed for Nasarawa, Iliya Aliyu for Nasarawa-Eggon, Isa Sani for Obi, Murtala Danmadami for Toto, and Ezekiel Jaga for Wamba. Adamson note say the consensus candidates emerge following thorough consultation and resolution among the party’s stakeholders and the candidates.
The party’s councillorship candidates for the 147 electoral wards also emerge through consensus. Receiving the report, Aliyu Bello, APC State Chairman, thank the committee members for their dedication and for fulfilling their mandate within the stipulated timeframe. He express satisfaction with the calibre of individuals who had emerged as the party’s candidates and express optimism that the APC would win the election in all the local government areas, given the quality of its candidates.
