FBN Holdings Plc don announce de appointment of Adebowale (Wale) Oyedeji as de new Group Managing Director (GMD), effective November 13, 2024. Dis appointment dey subject to de approval of de Central Bank of Nigeria and ratification by shareholders at de next Annual General Meeting.
Wale Oyedeji go replace Nnamdi Okonkwo, who dey retire after completing his term. With over 30 years of banking experience across corporate banking, treasury, and commercial banking, Oyedeji bring extensive leadership expertise to de role.
Before dis appointment, Oyedeji be de Managing Director/CEO of Nova Commercial Bank, where he play key role in de institution’s transformation and expansion into retail banking. His career span significant leadership roles, including serving as Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank UK between 2008 and 2011, and as an Executive Director for de Corporate Banking Group of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc between 2011 to 2018.
Oyedeji also hold position as Independent Non-Executive Director at Stanbic IBTC Bank. He get Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from University of Ibadan and Master of Science in Financial Economics from University of London. He be Fellow of de Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
At FBN Holdings, Oyedeji go lead de implementation of de company’s new 5-year strategic plan, overseeing operations at both de Holdco and its various subsidiaries.
