Kogi Gov, Ododo Flag Off 20KM Rural Road Project for Farmers

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, don dey make big move to help farmers and traders for di state. Him just flag off di construction of 20KM Obajana-Uro-Aku rural road wey go link parts of Lokoja and Adavi local government areas.

Dis project na part of di interventions by di Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), wey World Bank Group and other stakeholders for agricultural development dey support. Na di first phase of over 65KM network of rural roads wey dem plan to build for di state, to make sure farmers get access to farms, farming communities, and markets, so food security go dey for di state.

Governor Ododo perform di flag-off ceremony for Apata near Obajana, and him emphasize say rural roads dey very important for his administration’s development agenda. Him say di roads no go just help with transportation, but dem also go be catalyst for rural economic growth and food security for di state.

Ododo also talk say di roads go provide access and connectivity to farmers and traders, as part of his administration’s broader strategy to enhance rural development and bring governance closer to people in local communities. Him appeal to di benefiting communities to take ownership of di project and warn contractors not to divert project funds, urging dem to show high level of integrity and professionalism in project delivery.

Di State Commissioner for Rural and Energy Development, Engineer Abdulmutalib Mohammed, say di project go benefit farmers especially by reducing di cost of transportation and accessibility for both farmers and traders in di state.

Di National Coordinator of RAAMP, Engineer Aminu Bodinga, represented by Mrs Joy Amadi, commend Governor Ododo for his commitment to rural development, saying it go enhance connectivity and access to markets, social services, and opportunities wey previously dey out of reach for rural dwellers.

Di Olu of Oworo, Muhammed Adoga Baiyerohi, and other traditional rulers commend Governor Ododo for di initiative, saying it go enhance agricultural development and reduce vehicular traffic along Obajana road.
