Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State don announce say him daughter, Helen Eno-Obareki, go be the new Acting First Lady of the state. Dis decision come after the death of his wife, Pastor Patience Eno, wey happen on Thursday, September 26, 2024, after one illness.
Eno make dis announcement when Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and other big people come visit am for condolence in Uyo on Friday, October 4, 2024. Him say Helen go continue the work wey her mother start, especially the Golden Initiative For All.
“To maintain the Office of the First Lady and carry forward my late wife’s work, I present our daughter, Helen, to continue the duties of the office. She will work closely with the Deputy Governor and the Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare,” Eno explain.
Eno assure the people of Akwa Ibom say the state machinery go continue to function well despite his wife’s death. Him thank President Bola Tinubu for standing by him and his family during dis hard time.
Eno describe his late wife as “Oluwa-Kemi” because she be a gift from God. Him say, “I married her when she was 19 and I was 22. We go through many challenges together, and her passing be an irreplaceable loss for me.”
