According to am, di move na because of public safety concerns over di increasing use of tinted glass vehicles and unregistered plate numbers for di commission of crimes for FCT.
“Today, I wish to address a matter of significant public safety concern; di increasing use of vehicles with tinted glasses, concealed or covered number plates, and unregistered vehicles for di commission of crimes, particularly di notorious ‘one-chance’ robberies, kidnappings, and oda criminal activities within di FCT,” e yarn.
“Intelligence reports at di disposal of Command indicate dat many criminal elements deliberately use such vehicles to conceal dia identities, evade detection, and frustrate law enforcement efforts. Dis poses a serious threat to public safety.”
“Consequently, di FCT Police Command don commence a comprehensive enforcement operation targeting vehicles wey dey operate in violation of dese regulations.”
E explain say di move no be to inconvenience law-abiding citizens wey don legitimately acquire approval to use tints on dia vehicles, but to deny criminals di cover wey dem dey exploit to perpetrate crimes against innocent citizens and FCT residents.
“As part of dis ongoing enforcement, over 30 vehicles wey dem find dey operate with tinted glass, covered or obscured number plates, and without proper registration don dey impounded,” e tok.
According to am, di owners and operators of di seized vehicles go be charged for court in accordance with di Laws of di Federation and di FCT Road Transport Regulations (2023).

“My attention was drawn to videos wey dey circulate on social media depicting four unidentified individuals wey dey possess AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and walkie-talkies, openly brandishing di weapons for videos and pictures dressed in military camouflage,” e yarn.
“I immediately direct a detailed forensic analysis into di origin of di content and order di immediate arrest of all persons connected to di videos and pictures.”
Di suspects dem arrest include Umar Babangida, 25 years old; Adamu Yeti, 22 years old; and Yahaya Idris, 24 years old, all residents of Rijana, Kaduna State.
“Investigations reveal dat di suspects previously dey in possession of di AK-47 rifles, wey dem obtain from dia gang leader identified only as ‘Esco’ from Rijana, Kaduna State, wey currently dey at large,” e explain.
“Further investigations also lead to di recovery of additional videos and photographs from di suspects’ mobile phones wey show dem dressed in military camouflage while brandishing AK-47 rifles and carrying walkie-talkies.”
Upon dia arrest, di following exhibits dem recover: one AK-47 rifle wey load with 30 rounds of live ammunition, eight phones, two jackknives, power banks, and more incriminating videos and pictures.

“Leveraging digital reconstructive intelligence and in collaboration with di Benue State Police Command, operatives attached to Apo Division successfully track and arrest two suspects identified as Mr. Emmanuel Acha Leku, 32 years old, a native of Douala, Cameroon, and im girlfriend, Ms. Kazan Vincent, for Adikpo, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.”
