Di Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) for Borno don stage peaceful protest to demand di release of 42 pupils, students, and teachers wey dem kidnap from Primary and Junior Day Secondary School Mussa for Askira Local Government Area.
Di National Publicity Secretary of di Union, Yusuf Ibn-Tom, wey lead protesters to Government House for Maiduguri, dey ask both state and federal government to quicken efforts to rescue di abductees.
Ibn-Tom also call on di governments to provide conducive learning environment across schools for di state. “Today we dey here for Government House for Borno State to give our letter wey dey appeal to di government of di day to do dia best to rescue our learners and also create safe environment where teaching and learning go continue to prosper for our communities.”
“We dey also appeal to di government of di day to remove di fear wey dey di minds of teachers and parents so dem fit teach for dignified condition,” e add.
Mustapha Malumbe, wey be Chief of Staff to Governor Babagana Zulum, receive di protesters and assure dem say di government dey ready to continue to provide security not only to schools but to all sectors.
About 42 pupils, students, and teachers from Primary and Junior Day Secondary School Mussa dem abduct on May 15, 2026, while dem dey receive lessons. Governor Babagana Zulum don earlier visit di local government area to commiserate with di affected families, assuring dem of security and safe return of di abductees.
Di protest come just one day afta teachers across di country take to di streets ova di abduction of teachers and students for Oyo State. A high-powered delegation don visit di South-West state, assuring speedy rescue of di abductees.
