13 Rep members switch parties for 2027 ambition

Thirteen members of the House of Representatives don switch parties, as plenary resume after Sallah break.

Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, wey preside over session, read 13 letters wey announce party changes by lawmakers.

Six members of Oyo House of Representatives caucus defect to APM. Dem be Anthony Adebayo, Adedeji Olajide, Sunday Makanjuola, Oyedeji Oyeshina, Fola Oyekunle, and Adigun Adekunle.

For dia letters, dem cite protracted internal crisis and leadership tussles inside PDP as reason for seeking alternative political platform to pursue 2027 ambitions.

With this development, Governor Makinde of Oyo State don carry six of di 14 members of Oyo State House of Representatives caucus go APM.

Meanwhile, PDP experience both losses and gains for floor of House on Tuesday.

For Bauchi State, Auwalu Gwalabe also leave PDP for APM.

Shehu Dalhatu, wey represent Faskari/Kankara/Sabuwa Federal Constituency of Katsina State, dump ruling APC for PDP. For im letter, Dalhatu state: “After careful consideration of di issues for APC and having consulted with my constituents, I don resolve to join PDP.”

Similarly, Delta State lawmaker Etanabene Benedict leave Labour Party for PDP, citing crisis for LP inside South-South state.

PDP gain another lawmaker for Alex Egbona, wey dump APC for PDP, noting say im commitment to House and im constituency remains unshakable.

For yet another defection, Edo State legislator Esosa Iyawe, wey don defect three times within three years, again dump APC, this time for Nigeria Democratic Congress. Im blame irreconcilable differences with Edo State chapter of APC for im decision.

Additionally, Nasarawa State lawmaker Gbefwi Gaza announce im defection from Social Democratic Party to Labour Party.
