Na big news dey ground for Yobe State as supporters of Senator Ahmad Lawan don gather N188 million for im governorship ambition. The money wey dem raise na to help am secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket ahead of the 2027 elections. The fundraising event hold for Damaturu, the state capital, on Sunday, and na real show of grassroots support.

Senator Lawan, wey be former Senate President, don send appreciation message to the Coalition of Yobe East Progressive Youths. The group, under Mohammed Yerima, organize the whole campaign. Lawan talk say the money come from pledges, cash donations, and bank transfers. But wetin really catch eye na how ordinary citizens participate well well.

According to the senator, several donations range from just N100 to N3,000. Contributors include widows, mechanic apprentices, traders, and students. “That, to me, is the true definition of grassroots participation and community ownership,” Lawan yarn. “You have not only raised funds for forms; you have redefined what it means to be progressive citizens of Yobe State.”

The lawmaker say the gesture reflect shared commitment to building open and accountable government for the state. “My desire to serve is to answer the call of our people. May Allah continue to direct and guide us in this endeavour. Amin,” Lawan conclude. The event show say Lawan’s political ambition still strong as supporters dey ready to back am with cash.
