Ambassador-designate Femi Fani-Kayode just throw heavy stone for former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi. The matter na about wetin Obi talk concerning NADECO activists wey fight for democracy during Abacha time.
FFK, as dem dey call am, come out strong strong for social media. Him say Peter Obi don cross line wey no be small. According to FFK, Obi mock memory of those wey die for June 12 struggle. Him talk say Obi statement dey wound people wey lose dem loved ones during military rule.
“This one pass politics,” FFK yarn for him X handle. “You don wound everybody wey suffer for dat time. To dey mock people wey die for democracy fight? Na unforgivable thing.”
But wetin really make FFK vex reach like dis? Na because Peter Obi post one thing for X on Thursday. Obi talk say na irony of history. Him say some people wey claim dem fight for democracy during Abacha era now dey do pass Abacha himself.
Obi write: “What an irony of history, that the acclaimed defenders of democracy and human rights who claimed to have fought for democracy during the era of General Sani Abacha now find themselves worse than the man they opposed.”
Although Obi no mention anybody name, many people believe say na President Bola Tinubu and some current politicians him dey talk about. Tinubu na one of NADECO activists wey fight military rule before.
FFK come fire back with strong words. Him curse Obi proper proper. “The blood of all those that were killed by General Abacha and his goons shall speak against you for the rest of your life,” FFK declare. “Their spirits shall haunt you from now till eternity.”
Then him drop the big one: “You shall NEVER become President of our nation.” Strong word from former Aviation Minister. FFK talk say Obi political star go fade completely from today.
But wait o, make we hear wetin Nigerians dey talk about dis matter. For social media, people don dey yarn different things. Some support FFK, some dey ask questions.
One user wey call himself @sunda8431 ask: “Why ambassador dey type words like this? Why sir?” Another one @Wahala_Digest talk say FFK dey do too much. “FFK, my guy, calm down. This theatrical performance is too much. You think we don’t know your history of switching sides?”
Some people even throw the matter back to FFK. @JjemGem reply say: “And the blood of those who have died under this administration speaks against you and Tinubu for the rest of your lives.” Na serious exchange of words.
Meanwhile, dis whole matter dey happen as political tension dey rise ahead of 2027 election. Peter Obi dey work with African Democratic Congress (ADC) politicians. Him explain say him dey work with dem because none of dem don get conviction for corruption.
