Alice di elephant break fence, take early morning stroll for zoo

Wetin you go do if you wake up early morning and see say you dey inside fence? For Alice, di 52-year-old Asian elephant wey dey ABQ BioPark, di answer na simple: take small stroll. Na wetin happen for March 29 morning, before di zoo even open for visitors.

Around 7:30 a.m., security people see say Alice don comot from her main habitat. Di elephant just dey walk calmly for zoo grounds, no rush at all. She dey stop small to chop some plants wey she see, and she dey look around like person wey dey check new area.

Animal care staff hear di news and reach di place within 10 minutes. Dem quickly start emergency response protocol. But di sweet part na say Alice no cause any wahala. Because di elephant care team don build strong relationship with am over time, dem just call am and she follow dem calmly go back to her habitat.

Di zoo officials talk say di whole thing remain under control from beginning to end. No other elephants follow Alice comot, and no staff member enter any danger. Alice sef no get any injury, but animal care staff go still dey monitor am closely.

Since di zoo never open for visitors dat morning, no guest see wetin happen. But ABQ BioPark still delay opening by about 30 minutes. Why? Because dem need clear di area where Alice don chop some plants and trees during her small adventure.

After everything settle, staff check di fence wey surround di elephant habitat. Dem find one section wey don compromise small. Dat area don dey secured now, and repair work dey ongoing to make sure everything tight proper.

Di zoo talk say dem dey always train for situations like dis. And dem give credit to di relationship between di elephant care team and Alice. “Because di elephant care team has developed a deep and trusting bond with Alice, she walked safely and calmly back to her habitat when called,” officials yarn.

So wetin suppose be serious matter turn to just quiet morning walk. Alice go out, enjoy small fresh air, chop some greens, and return home calmly like nothing happen. Di only evidence na di plants wey she sample and di fence section wey need repair.
