Jigawa State Police Command don show say dem no dey play with criminals for di state. Dem don arrest 29 suspects wey dey involved for different crimes like armed robbery, fraud, and drug dealing. Di police Public Relations Officer for Jigawa State, SP Shi'isu Adam, tok say dis big catch na part of dia continuous fight to make sure people and dia property safe for di state.
According to di statement wey SP Adam release to journalists for Dutse, di state capital, on Monday, di police don record plenty success for di fight against crime. Di first arrest happen on March 13, 2026, around 5 p.m. when detectives from Shuwarin Division catch two fraudsters based on solid tip-off. Di suspects, Abdullahi Muhammad, 18, and Sabiu Kamisu, 40, both from Rangwam, Sundimina for Birnin Kudu LGA, don trick one 37-year-old man from Kajuru LGA for Kaduna State. Dem collect N1,050,000 from di man after dem promise am say dem go exchange US dollars for am. During interrogation, di two suspects confess to di crime, and police recover 64 fake $100 bills and one Honda car with plate number BKD 220 AA.
Di next day, on March 14, police team from Hadejia 'B' Division arrest 12 suspects wey dem link to robberies, homicide, cattle rustling, theft, and receiving stolen goods. Di police say dis suspects dey part of di dreaded Alin Mai gang wey dey terrorise Hadejia area. Among di items wey police seize from dis suspects na one Mercedes Benz, three motorcycles, spare parts, master keys, invoice, arrows, gloves, cement bag, and MP3 player. All di suspects and di exhibits don transfer to SCID Dutse for proper investigation, and dem go soon face court.
On March 16 at 4:30 p.m., police officers from Ringim Division respond to distress call and catch four armed robbers wey dey rob between Chaichai and Shafar villages. Di leader of di gang, Inusa Isa, 37, from Dausayi village for Ringim LGA, and him accomplices Binya Sabo, 20, Yusuf Usman, 25, and Abba Usman, 24, don use guns threaten one motorcyclist and steal him red Boxer bike and phone. Police recover di bike and one homemade single-barrel rifle from di suspects. Di case don transfer to SCID Dutse for deeper investigation and prosecution.
Di police also arrest Adamu Abdullahi, 25, from Kankare Village for Birnin Kudu LGA, on March 17 at 11:45 a.m. Di suspect and six other people wey dem dey find don plan to lure one 42-year-old victim to Jangargari bush for fake currency exchange. Di gang use machete attack di victim and collect N1 million from am. Adamu Abdullahi don confess to di crime, and police dey hunt for him accomplices.
On March 19 at 3:20 p.m., patrol police officers for Dutse metropolis catch two suspects from Auzara, Kachako, Albasu LGA for Kano State. Di suspects, Amadu Umar, 25, and Tambaya Umar, 23, dey with one stolen red Honda motorcycle with plate number HJA 178 QK wey dem dey use for animal thefts. Same day at 4 p.m., police raid for Maidabara settlement for Gumel LGA lead to di arrest of Shamsu Abdullahi, 18, from Hotoro Quarters for Kano State. Police find 2,460 Exol tablets and 150 Pregabalin capsules with am. Di suspect dey under investigation, and di case go go to SCID Dutse.
Di last arrest happen on March 20 at 8:30 p.m. when patrol team from Birnin Kudu Division catch Muktar Sa’idu, 20, from Zazikan Jeji for Ningi LGA for Bauchi State. Di suspect dey rob one motorcycle for Alkali Quarters. Police recover di bike, and di suspect don dey for court already.
Overall, di police recover plenty items from all di operations, including two vehicles, six motorcycles, fake USD notes, one fabricated rifle, over 2,000 illicit drugs, master keys, and other things. Di Commissioner of Police for Jigawa State don praise di officers for dia bravery and performance. Di command vow say dem no go show mercy to any criminal, and dem go continue to work hard to rid Jigawa State of all criminal elements.
