Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State don make history by appointing Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake as de new Secretary to de State Government. Dis appointment na de first time woman go occupy dat position for Anambra since de state creation. De announcement come from de governor Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, on Monday.
Chiamaka Nnake wey be 39 years old na from Nawfia for Njikoka Local Government Area. She don get over 13 years experience for finance and public sector work. Before dis appointment, she serve as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning for Anambra State. She also chair Solution Fun City Limited.
For her time as commissioner, she dey oversee how dem dey plan and share state money to support development projects. She don hold important positions for many state boards like Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, Internal Revenue Service Board, and Small Business Agency. She still dey serve as de state Reform Champion for Ease of Doing Business.
Before she join government work, Nnake work as Senior Strategy Consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers for Nigeria. For dat company, she handle more than 30 client matters across different sectors. She even help develop Anambra Vision 2070 plan wey be long-term development blueprint for de state.
She also work as Business Analyst for IHS Towers and Equity Research Analyst for Meristem Securities Limited. For education, she get MBA from Lagos Business School and First-Class Accounting degree from Benson Idahosa University. She be Fellow of de Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and member of ACCA National Advisory Committee.
Governor Soludo also appoint other key officials for new positions. Dem include Mrs. Ngozi Iwouno as Head of Service, Tobechukwu Nweke as Attorney-General, Joachim Anetoh as Principal Secretary to de Governor, and Dr. Ben Nwankwo as Chief of Staff. Prof Frank-Collins Okafor become State Chief of Protocol.
Other appointments be Christian Aburime as Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Vincent Okechi as Deputy Chief of Staff, Ms. Ngozi Okoye as Deputy State Chief of Protocol, Dr. Godwin Nnadozie as Special Adviser for Medicals and Pharmaceuticals, Ms. Chinwe Okoli as Special Adviser for Innovation and Business Incubation, Prof Ebuka Nwankwo as Special Adviser for Special Projects, and Ken Emeakayi as Special Adviser for Community Security.
Dis appointments come after Governor Soludo swear in for second term on March 17, 2026. Soludo wey be former Central Bank of Nigeria governor don talk say he wan continue with development plans for Anambra. De appointment of first female SSG show say de administration dey promote gender inclusion for governance.
