We dey hear say National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Council Lagos don raise alarm as dem narrowly escape kidnapping for highway road on top their journey to Ekiti State University for NANS South-West Zone D Convention.
As dem start their trip from Lagos on Friday, dem no fit reach their destination because of wahala wey involve mechanical fault wey happen for the night. Na midnight dem find demself for Ilesa area wey don turn to kidnapping hot spot. Na these boys wey be kidnappers dey lie down wait for dem like say na fishing day, once dem take dem step, dem pounce!
The spokesperson, Ridwan Ajayi, talk say na around midnight dem dey drive come across the ambush, as armed men flash light for dem face, dey box dem in like say na regular street fight. Na so their driver, like heavy-weight champion, decide say e go reverse the whip come follow dem go back for road escape. E be like film!
Na so the kidnappers dey pursue dem, but your car no fit catch the speed of Naija motor! E no be small escape, as their driver use correct strategy run from those guys. Wetin dey vex me be say, after their escape, dem see say no police or security dey for that main highway at all! Omo, how this kain thing dey happen?
NANS talk say the matter no be only this one, e dey part of serious wahala wey don dey happen all over the country, as highway don turn opportune ground for armed robbers and kidnappers wey no dey let citizens enjoy land of their fathers.
Recent reports show say Kogi and Kwara states don also witness bad attacks, as even government officials no dey safe for motor again. NANS don shout say this no be just wahala but solid proof say our security system don jam! How come armed criminals fit dey hold road for two hours without police showing face?
The students don put police for their side say dem dey accountable for all this wahala, and dem dey demand immediate action make sure say people fit travel without fear. As dem conclude their statement, dem talk say if no serious action happen, students go mobilize to demand correct answer from the powers that be.
