No be small matter oh! INEC don gather transport unions, dem dey prepare for Federal Capital Territory council election wey go happen for February 21, 2026. Chairman of INEC, Prof Joash Amupitan talk say logistics na wetin go make the election sharp and proper, no be wahala like Anambra election.
For the meeting wey dem hold with National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and other transport unions, Amupitan stress say dem need to provide about 1,132 vehicles to carry materials go polling units. Na so election fit work well. E talk say, ‘An election fit no waka well if logistics no dey on point.’
Last time wen dem do Anambra election, na so dem nearly enter wahala because vehicles wey dem bring no fit do the job well. Some of dem no even dey okay. But dis time, INEC don open eye and wan make sure say everything go fine. Dem dey plan to arrange vehicles for Registration Area Centres (RAC) by Friday so that on election day, attender go dey correct.
Amupitan no wan hear any excuses this time. E don warn dem say, make dem comply with the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) wey dem sign. Mercy Ibeh wey be NURTW Director of Legal don talk say dem don dey work on all di issues wey show face in past elections. She believes say communication na key to success.
Abdullahi Dauda wey be NURTW FCT Chairman don promise say dem go make sure say everything go as planned. He talk say dem go sit down with di REC to solve any issue wey fit come up. This election go different, e talk confidently.
