Chai! Na wah oh! Anambra State don show pepper to illegal revenue collectors as dem catch six people wey dey collect money for Oye Utuh without permission.
These suspects, dem be Christopher Mmadu, Paul Kenechukwu, Emeka Okoli, Livinus Ezulike, Nzube Nnoluka and Anayo Agu, no fit escape the long hand of the law as dem dey gather cash from bus drivers, keke and okada riders.
According to Nathan Obikwelu, wey dey serve as Special Commander for the revenue service, dem arrest this set of six for serious wahala. E come talk say dem dey violate state law wey don ban illegal cash collection for transportation sector.
Na so dem carry this people go Onitsha Revenue Court after dem catch dem and later, dem don send dem go Onitsha Correctional Centre to cool off for small time.
Obikwelu don make am clear say dem no go stop to catch illegal collectors, as e dey follow wetin Governor Chukwuma Soludo don talk say make dem clean the state from this kind wahala.
He talk say, “These suspects don dey collect money from market transport operators without any legal right, and e dey breach di Anambra State law wey dey protect okada, bus and keke riders from illegal cash collectors.”
Obikwelu no hide am; e don warn others wey dey do this kind business to pack their load for road or face di music. He dey encourage dem to find legit hustle wey go pay pass dis illegal work.
“If we catch any illegal revenue collector for action, dem go dey face serious punishment according to law. Dis arrests no be fluke but na to show say di governor mean business. No more illegal collection for Anambra State again!”
E no be only this set wey dem catch oh! Just recently, PUNCH Online don report say dem catch four men for Onitsha wey dey do same thing. Dem be Ikenna Udoji, Kosi Iwobi, Chidera Ogbogu and Monday. Dem catch them near di Army Gate area while dem dey collect from keke riders.
Pity no dey for illegal revenue collectors as e be. Na wetin di state government talk be say, make cash collection no dey illegal again across Anambra State. Dem ready to fight for di right of di people!
