The national president of the association, Alhaji Aliyu Isah, no dey play as he drop this bombshell for interview with News Agency of Nigeria for Abuja. He dey reason strong points as he talk say Nigeria dey among the big boys for onion production, with our onions dey go far as West and Central Africa, plus some European markets too. Na wah!
Isah no carry mouth low. E talk say onion production na important part of our economy, wey dey help plenty farmers for rural areas. He commend the Federal Government for the support wey dem dey give farmers, like better seeds, fertilizer, and agrochemicals. E sweet me when I hear say dem don improve farmers’ training and access to modern farming methods.
But that no be all! Dem dey work with customs to make sure say trade corridors dey smooth like butter. Isah also yan say dem dey team up with Nigerian Export Promotion Council to reduce export cost and make everything easy for processed onion products. Collaboration no be small tin!
He talk say partnerships with countries like Ghana, Niger Republic, and Burkina Faso don help cross-border trade sweet pass pass. But e still dey clear say e go make sense if we fit expand onion processing facilities to add better value and increase profit. Na wetin dem dey plan for 2026! E be like say dem dey set the stage to take lead for Africa!
He dey call on our young people to enter agriculture because e dey give plenty opportunity wey fit change their life. “If you dey think say na job you wan find, consider onion farming and agribusiness – na jackpot!” he yarn.
