Wahala dey for Anambra as tanker wey carry fuel burst for road, kill two people on Sunday. Na serious matter this, my people! The accident happen for Ihiala-Onitsha road, just opposite Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) office. Dem say na tanker wey no get number plate and motorcycle wey no get number plate also dey involve for the crash.
According to Mrs. Bridget Asekhauno, the Sector Commander for FRSC, the tanker driver no wan hear word, dey speed like say him dey run from lion. E lost control, crash into barricade wey dey for road, and boom! Explosion follow. Eyewitnesses dey yarn say once the tanker jam the barricade, na so fire begin spread like wildfire, touch the motorcycle wey dey follow behind.
Na three men dey involved for the matter: two die on the spot, and one wey dey ride motorcycle get bad injuries but dem don rush am go Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for treatment. You fit imagine the scenario: people dey run everywhere, as that loud explosion scatter everywhere!
FRSC and fire service no slack, dem show up quick to extinguish the fire before e fit cause more damage. Mrs. Asekhauno later express her sympathy to the families of the deceased. She don remind everybody say, make dem control their speed and keep eye for road. Na mumu man go drive without sense for highway, wey na life we dey talk about!
Na serious warning she drop for all motorists: “If you sabi drive, make you drive safe; e go better for everybody.” These road accidents no dey take anything serious, and for Anambra, this na the second time wey tanker wahala dey happen within few months. God no go let us hear ‘twice burned’ again!
