E no be small thing as dem don start to inspect agricultural incubation centres for Akwa Ibom, Imo, and Rivers states.
Di NDDC Director of Corporate Affairs, Seledi Thompson-Wakama, gist us sey dem dey evaluate how the programme dey perform for communities. Dem visit farms like Megalakes Farms for Ogu Town, Rivers State, where Dr. Winifred Madume, di Director of Agriculture and Fisheries, yarn sey dem wan make sure sey training for agricultural skills dey go well.
She talk say, “NDDC dey committed to di Renewed Hope Agenda wey President Bola Ahmed Tinubu don set. We go ensure sey di training and funding wey dem dey give di young agripreneurs go pawa dem to change dia lives.” Na so dem fit tackle unemployment and food security for di Niger Delta region.
During di inspection, Mr. Abi Morris wey be di Special Assistant on Agriculture to di NDDC MD, talk sey e dey happy with wetin e see. Di youth wey don start dia own farms dey show plenty enthusiasm. “We dey unlock livelihoods and change mindsets. E go better for dem, no be lie,” he add.
Miss Nzhu Salome from Sogho, Rivers State, wey dey benefit from di programme, thank NDDC sey dem don help am learn how to run her own garri business. Di excitement for di incubatees dey high as dem dey work hard to improve dia ventures.
Even for Imo State, Mr. Tonye Frank-Oputu, di Agriculture Director, commend di incubatees. E talk say dem don dey work hard, and di results dey show say e dey pay off. “E get progress for wetin dem dey do, and dis LIFE-ND programme dey create real opportunities,” he say.
Dem no forget Akwa Ibom too, as Dr. Oretan Adebowale urge di beneficiaries to use wetin dem learn to support sustainable agriculture. “Una go use di knowledge wey you gather to better una communities,” e add.
Mr. Ohaka Emmanuel, one of di newly trained incubatees, praise di NDDC sey dis training don give am plenty knowledge about fish production. “I dey appreciate my incubator, and I don ready to put everything I learn to work!” he talks.
