Barn Holdings don enter big partnership with National Root Crops Research Institute (NRCRI) for Umudike to turn cassava peels and other root crop wahala into animal feed. Dis na wetin we dey call smart move to boost food security and create jobs for our society.

Dey sealed dis agreement for NRCRI headquarters, wey the Executive Director, Professor Chiedozie Egesi, and Barn Holdings CEO, Tony Jibunoh, sign paper wey go blow our minds. Dem gree say dem go turn cassava waste into affordable feed wey go help our livestock industry wey don dey suffer from feed wahala.

Jibunoh yarn sey Abia State na im first major investment for South East, and dem wan copy wetin dem do for Ibadan, Oyo State, wey work well for dem. E talk sey this na chance to showcase the agricultural potential wey dey for Abia, especially for livestock. Na better way to support the nation’s growth, no be small thing o!

He also mention sey dem go need about 10,000 hectares of land, wey Abia State Government go provide sharp-sharp. He believe sey if dem fit process roots and tubers well, e go make sense to feed our livestock without wahala. E no come forget to mention sey e believe sey the Federal Government go support dis initiative as e dey important for food production.

Mr. Richard Mbaram from the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development join the gist, talk sey dis milking barn wey dem dey plan go bring plenty jobs and teach people modern farming style. Dem still dey discuss with Abia State government on how dem go share land for dis project, wey go start pilot phase later dis year!

Professor Egesi tell us sey NRCRI dey focused on research, production, and marketing of root crops, all in the name of food security and making money. E talk sey dem dey align with Federal Government plans to support economic growth while partnering with private sector like Barn Holdings. After signing, some officials go tour the NRCRI cassava processing facility to check wetin dey on ground.

Barn Holdings don even visit Abia State Ministry of Agriculture, dey pitch their proposal to Dr. Cliff Agbaeze, wey dey in charge of the Agriculture matter for the state, for dem to fit get land for the facilities dem wan build.
