As dem dey celebrate, dem hold thanksgiving service for Cathedral Church of St. David, wey dey for Kudeti. Dey no carry small paddy dey there o! From different year sets, dem gather join hand, from politics to finance, education to judiciary, everybody dey sweet for this reunion.
Some big names wey we see for the event include former First Lady of Oyo State, Chief (Mrs) Olufunmilayo Olunloyo, and Dame Olufunmike Ogundana, wey don serve for Central Bank of Nigeria. Plus, no forget Mrs Sade Ojutalayo and Chief Mrs Bose Odekunle wey don retire. E mean say na big babes dey here o!
Na Very Rev Akin Alade wey lead the service, come dey encourage everybody make dem no forget to dey thank God. E come talk say, “You no go wait till when everything dey alright before you thank God. A thankful heart fit open door for joy and peace.” Na true talk be dat jare! He also talk say make dem focus on the light wey dey shine for their lives rather than who no dey again.
Mrs Mojisola Giwa-Osagie, wey be the National President of Yejide Old Girls Association, she dey ginger everybody as she dey appreciate God for the success of the celebration. She talk say, “We dey proud say this na our church, and we still dey part of am.” E be like say the love dey flow well well!
Omo, you fit hear the sweet songs wey dey come from choir and di current students wey carry all the interesting performances. As dem dey dance, you go sef feel say you wan join am! Na Bishop Rt Rev Akintunde Popoola come dey do Holy Communion, the spirit really dey move for dat service.
The wahala no end there, as the celebration come dey enter reception for school compound. Na there be the real reunion as dem dey catch up, gist and shake small legs as dem dey reflect on wetin the school don achieve for 70 years. Na so dem end the celebration, with all the fun and memories wey go last forever.
