The director of public affairs for LAWMA, Mukaila Sanusi, talk say dis arrests na as a result of unauthorised dumpsite wey dem discover during their monitoring exercise. LAWMA dey encourage everybody to pack their waste well, register with proper PSP operators, and make sure say dem report any illegal dumping through LAWMA channels. Na dis way we fit make Lagos clean and better!
And no be only waste matter dey ground o! The federal government don dey urge stakeholders for agriculture and finance sectors to gather strength together make we fit improve agroecology practices. Gbadegesin don talk many things wey concern the state’s waste management system too. As e dey talk, na about 27 million people dey live for Lagos, and each of dem dey generate waste wey dey reach 13,000 to 15,000 tonnes every day. E no go take God do miracles to make dis country clean! E promise say dem go dey bring in new compactor trucks and set up more transfer stations as part of their long time plan. E sweet for mouth but na action we dey need now, no be only talk!
This government ready to go deep into the matter, e say dem go increase enforcement and look into how to turn waste into money. Dem dey encourage all of us to recycle and to know say wetin we dey throw away fit turn to money. If we fit manage our waste well, everybody go benefit!
