Justice Obiora Egwuatu no get choice but to adjourn the case go March 25. Dem need to report on wetin happen for their out-of-court settlement or continue the trial. E get some kind matter wey dey happen behind the scene, as Ojerinde and ICPC talk say dem wan settle the case wey dey worth N5.2 billion!
Na July 16, 2025, dem talk say dem gree settle the case, but how far e don reach? Ojerinde lawyer, Eteya Ogana, don dey talk say dem still dey find way to resolve am administratively while ICPC lawyer, Lesie Iheduru, don still confirm wetin e talk. This matter don dey drag since July 2021 when dem first arraign am for 18-count charge wey concern corruption and fraud, all dis one wey happen under him leadership for JAMB and NECO.
But Ojerinde no gree accept say e do any wrong, as he still dey plead not guilty to every charge wey ICPC throway for him side. Just last year, dem try to make am plea bargain, but the matter no gree work. Na so the case don dey drag enter this year with no lawyer for both side show face for court. Wetin you go call this one? Dem talk say he don misuse him position as Registrar, chop government money wey dey reach N5.2 billion. As per the law, dem dey accuse am say im don break wetin dey Section 19, 24, 25(1)(a) and (b) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, and Section 1(1)(b) of the Advance Fee Fraud Act. No be small matter again!
