Dem residents no dey smile again as dem dey talk say all dis bandits wey dey claim say dem don change don still carry guns wey fit spoil things for dem community. From Jibia, Batsari, Kankara and Musawa local government areas, people dey voice their concerns say dis bandits dey pose big threat, abi tell me wetin we go call person wey say him don repent but still dey carry gun waka.
One guy wey dey from Jibia named Rabiu Shua’ibu yan say e no get problem with peace initiative, but make dem first return all di weapons wey dis bandits still hold. E don see wetin don happen before, peace agreement wey no include disarmament na wahala make sense. Dey go just dey take am play, if na true repentance we dey talk.
Another resident wey dey Batsari, Selmanu Zakka, don talk say if dem go allow these armed people enter community without collecting their guns, e go make people no trust government again. Dis disarmament wey dem dey discuss no fit be negotiation oh! He insists say make government dey prioritize justice for victims too, no be just to dey hold meeting baselessly.
Aliyu Sani from Kankara town add him own, com say: “We no dey against peace, but peace wey no involve disarmament na trap wey go catch us.” You go sabi say dis one na heavy matter, dem bandits still dey use guns attack communities for di area, no be small wahala at all.
Muntari Saidu from Musawa still dey call on government make dem ensure say dem get back di guns from dis repentant bandits, say make dem no deceive una, if things no change, dis banditry go still dey waka for Katsina.
But, I go still let una hear as Salisu Masaud Suleiman wey dey from Safana talk say dem repentant bandits dey protect dem against outside attackers. E dey reason say di bandits wey don change dey use dem arms to defend dem from di unrepentant ones wey dey come from Zamfara and Kaduna states.

As for di state Commissioner for Internal Security, Nasiru Mu’azu, e don talk say disarmament process dey gradual, make everybody get patient. Dem say if dem rush am, di ones wey don drop their guns fit face wahala from di other bandits.
As e be now, di matter dey hot for Katsina, everybody dey look as government wan gree do wetin dey right. Na only time go tell if peace go fit reign for where bandits still dey hold guns!
