No be small matter wey dey happen for Kano State o! Political analyst wey sabi the game, Dr. Umar Ardo, don raise alarm say if Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf no change hin mind join APC, dem go gbege for 2027 elections.
Ardo talk say, this move na big error wey fit make am waka jare. E talk say Kano politics na serious wahala wey dey align with opposition anytime wey thing dey happen.
“If Abba go join APC, e show say he no sabi how Kano politics dey move,” Ardo declare, make everybody listen well. E don trace Kano political history since independence, and e no fit hide wetin e see.
As far back as First Republic, where dem dey form government with NPC, Kano people still dey vote NEPU wey na opposition party. Na so e be for Second Republic too, as Kano still choose PRP instead of NPN wey dem dey vote for northern region.
When dem bring democracy come back for 1999, Kano people follow PDP, wey dem consider as liberal. But as PDP don taste power, Kano quickly shift gear come dey vote out PDP after just one term in 2003 to favor ANPP wey don dey wait for dem.
Ardo talk say this trend no change; come 2015, when APC come form, Kano join them to fight against PDP national government. After two terms, Kano come return to their normal way to vote NNPP.
Even the court no fit change their mind during the legal tussles post-elections; dem still dey resist APC from taking over. Supreme Court come stand with Kano people, say dem sabi wetin dem dey do.
Now, Ardo don warn say if Gov. Yusuf join APC, dem go face serious gbege for 2027. “Either APC go win national government and lose Kano State, or dem go win Kano State and lose the national election. No be both dem fit win,” Ardo talk with strong conviction.
Kano State, e get history wey dey warn anybody wey wan play with their political strategy. Na so the matter be, na only time go tell wetin go happen next.
