Ozekhome Fraud Case: AGF Don Enter The Matter, Arraignment Go Later

Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, don officially take over prosecution matter wey concern Mike Ozekhome, wey sabi as Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). Dis saga dey hot like jollof rice for Abuja High Court because e get to do with alleged fraud wey involve property for UK.

Ozekhome, wey suppose enter court today, later find him self say dem don move the matter reach February 24. As dem call the matter, people wey dey represent ICPC – the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission – show face with their big lawyer, Dr. Osuebeni Akpomesingha. Omo, but dem no fit stand the strong ground of the AGF wey don come with full force.

Na so Rotimi Oyedepo, wey be Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation (DPPF), talk say dem don gather and go collaborate with ICPC to make sure say every part of the prosecution normal and e dey follow law well-well. E also yan say dem go make sure say Ozekhome right no go suffer while dem dey pursue this case. E no wan make anybody feel any wahala.

Justice Peter Kekemeke, wey dey hold the gavel for court, don gree make dem take time to collect all the needed files from ICPC so dem fit see how dem wan run the matter. As e be now, ICPC don show say dem dey ready to work together with AGF office, wey be the body wey investigate this wahala from the beginning.

Ozekhome dey face three serious charges as dem don file against am. First one dey talk say in August 2021, for London, e collect house wey dem say na property wey one Mr. Shani Tali give am. Second count na say e forge document wey get Nigerian passport number A07535463, bearing Shani Tali name, all to support am for that property claim. The last one na for him to use that same fake passport to claim say na he own the property.

Dis whole issue don shake ground for Abuja as person wey raise the alarm about Ozekhome na Mr. Olanrewaju Suraj, wey dey head Human and Environmental Development Agenda. E carry matter go ICPC after British court call Ozekhome and some others, say dem dey involve for serious fraud and document forgery.
