My people, make I gist una wetin dey happen for Interswitch ground! E don reach that time wey we go see our next Naija STEM stars as dem don announce nine fine finalists wey go contest for the grand finale of the InterswitchSPAK National Science Competition. Na big one, no be small!
Dis competition no be just for play o! Dem start with over 18,000 sharp students from all over Nigeria, but wahala no dey finish for there. Dem do computer-based test wey no be joke, and e verify who ready to carry science trophy come house. Na so dem narrow am down to 81 students wey dey shine, and after that, 27 semi-finalists emerge, ready to show wetin dem sabi.
After plenty brain work, dem finally select nine top students wey go carry the flag for finale wey dey come up soon. The finalists be: Lyon Awhaisoba from Apt Scholars Universal College for Ogun State; Naetochukwu Ochi from Jesuit Memorial College, Rivers State; Saint Riman from Adedokun International Schools, Ogun State; Emmanuel Ashaolu from Welkin International School, Ogun State; and Gbolamiga Atekoja from Heritreats Private Secondary School, Ondo State.
No forget David Solomonezemma from Deeper Life High School, Enugu State; Eke David from Marist Brothers’ Juniorate, Abia State; Chukwubudem Ezeobi from British Spring College, Anambra State; and David Okorie from Caleb International College, Lagos State. Na strong team wey dem build here!
As Cherry Eromosele, wey be Executive Vice President for Interswitch talk, this initiative na serious one wey dey inspire and reward the brainy youths wey go fit solve real-life problems. She talk say the finalists don show wetin e mean to get brilliance and passion for innovation, and dem be the future of science and tech for Africa!
For the grand finale, dem go dey fight for scholarship and prizes wey worth over ₦35 million! The champion go carry home ₦15 million scholarship spread across five years, plus brand-new laptop and monthly give-away. The first runner-up go collect ₦10 million over three years, and second runner-up go go home with ₦5 million scholarship for one year.
No forget, extra cash prizes dey wait for those wey rank fourth to ninth, while top 18 semi-finalists and the 27 teachers wey guide dem go also dey get recognition. This competition don turn national platform for supporting scientists, engineers, and innovators. We dey look forward to how this season go unfold!
