My people, una go hear wetin dey happen for Lekki–Epe Road. Na big wahala don show as Lagos State Government don announce say dem go start rehabilitation work for 20-kilometre stretch of the road from Sunday and e go last about 64 days! E go be like say we dey play match for Lekki.
Oluwaseun Osiyemi, wey be Commissioner for Transportation, talk say dem no go close the whole corridor. Dem go dey manage traffic for specific areas wey dem sabi as intersections. The first phase go start from Chevron to Igbo-Efon, and na only Lagos-bound side dem go close first. Na structured eight-intersection approach wey go carry this work.
Osiyemi talk say during this time, dem go use Epe-bound carriageway as diversion, especially for morning when traffic dey plenty from 4 a.m. to 12 p.m. Two lanes go dey available for Lagos-bound motorist, while Epe-bound side go get one lane. Na serious traffic matter we get here, my people.
But wait, make I yarn you, dem don grade road shoulders on Epe-bound side to fit carry more cars. Make you no say dem don plan am well. E sure say go dey traffic officers, directional signs, and everything wey go make motorist dey ease throughout the construction.
Osiyemi don advise motorist to consider alternative routes, like Coastal Road from Ogombo via Abraham Adesanya, to avoid wahala for Lekki–Epe Road during this construction. Even another route from Eleganza via Orchid fit help you dodge the hold-up that side.
The Lagos State Government dey work with Lekki-Epe Residents Association to make everybody sabi wetin dey happen for the road. Na big project wey dem dey call critical intervention wey go improve road safety for long term.
As for Sola Giwa, Special Adviser to the Governor, him don lead joint inspection for the road to make sure everything dey ready before dem start work. Him talk say dem go use robust traffic management and proper lighting to ensure say everybody go dey safe.
So, no forget, my people! If you no fit avoid Lekki–Epe corridor during these 64 days, make you dey careful and make you cooperate with traffic officials. The aim na to give us better, durable road wey go make journey smooth again.
