My people, make una gather round, we get hot gist from Lagos! This Sunday, January 11, Lagos go turn cycling paradise as dem dey prepare for the Lagos Gran Fondo ‘Eko 170’ Cycling Race. E go start early morning, 5 am, and finish by 2 pm. E no go be small wahala o!
Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, wey be the Commissioner for Transportation for Lagos, don yarn the details wey dey ground. Dis race no be joke, as e go cover 170 kilometers! Na two main routes dem get: one wey go be 70km and another wey go stretch reach 170km. E go start for Eko Atlantic, wey be the hot gist for town now!
For the 70km route, cyclists go waka from Eko Atlantic through Ahmadu Bello Way, dey go Coastal Road, Okun-Ajah Community Road, Ogombo Road, and finish back at Eko Atlantic. But for the serious riders wey sabi the road well, the 170km route go take dem through Lekki-Epe Expressway, Epe T-Junction, Poka-Araga Road, and many other junctions before dem come back to where dem start.
But make I clear una, as dem dey plan this large gathering, traffic go dey scatter small. Dem don set road diversion so that cars no go jam the cyclists. All the roads wey dey close to the routes go dey managed by Lagos State Traffic Management Authority with heavy security presence too. Na serious matter o, so as motorist, abeg try dey patient and follow wetin traffic officials talk.
Oluwaseun also talk say dem do all these arrangements to make sure say the cyclists and other road users dey safe. Dis na not just cycling race; e get level wey dey promote Lagos as wetin dey call sports tourism and healthy living. E go show off our fine city, how coastal e be, and our vibrant culture—na the world go see am!
Lagos people, if you get chance, make you come witness as dem dey ride for street. E go be correct vibe, and who knows, you fit even join the fun if you get bicycle! Just remember to plan your route well as traffic fit scatter during the event period. Na we go make Lagos dey shine!
