My people, make I yarn una wetin dey happen for our obodo Nigeria. According to PricewaterhouseCoopers report wey just land, about 141 million Nigerians go dey live for poverty by 2026. Na wetin dem call plenty wahala.
This one no be just figures wey we go fit dismiss like say na juju matter. E dey show how things dey bad for us. As we dey waka enter 2027 election season, we gatz face the reality wey dey before us, no be the sweet mouth wey politicians dey give us.
Dem say inflation no wan gree rest. Prices dey rise like say na competition. Even if dem talk say inflation don reduce small, our pocket no dey feel am. People dey struggle to chop wetin dem fit afford, food don cost pass gold for market. This one dey vex me as dem dey show say food take 70% of wetin low-income families dey spend. Na real wahala!
PwC don warn say as the yawa dey go, another 13 million of us fit join the poor community if dem no fit manage this situation well. Dis na serious matter, no be joke! For rural areas and the northern part of Nigeria, dem dey face real hunger and hardship.
Instead of our leaders to face this urgent matter, na so dem dey use propaganda dey dismiss reality. E be like say dem no sabi wetin ordinary Nigerians dey face every day. When person no fit chop, e go fit manipulate election with money, na so our democracy dey suffer. How we go fit enjoy governance when the people dey suffer?
For world standard, if we check wetin World Bank dey talk, dem define poverty line, and our record dey shameful. As of 2022, Nigeria don overtake India for number of people wey dey live for extreme poverty. While India fit reduce their numbers, we dey add more people like say na tradition.
Inflation na the major wahala wey dey cause this struggle. From 2020, our inflation don rise like bad belle – from 13.25% to estimated 33.24% in 2024. Even fuel subsidy removal wey suppose free us, na e carry more wahala come. Transport costs rise, food prices follow, plus businesses dey close down by the day. This one dey vex me!
As our people dey go through this hardship, crime dey increase too. Young people wey suppose dey work hard dey look for short cut cause dem no fit survive. Minimum wage no dey enough for anybody to live well. People wey dey work hard dey suffer, this thing fit cause serious gbege.
We no go fit rest if civil society and citizens no dey rise against this injustice. Protests don reduce, even as things dey bad. If we no do something quick, the kind wahala wey dey happen for other countries fit happen here too. We need real solutions, not just sweet talk.
What we need be proper action. We gatz create jobs, tackle food supply issues, and secure our farmers. If Nigeria fit confront poverty head-on, then we fit see light for this darkness wey dey surround us. Na time to wake up and shine, we no fit use politics take joke with our future!
