No be small thing o! Nigerian Law School don break glass ceiling as dem just appoint Olugbemisola Odusote as the first female Director General. Na first time wey woman go sit down for this big chair wey don dey exist since 1962! E be so historic, e go make sense for everybody wey dey follow legal matter for Naija.
President Bola Tinubu na the person wey do the appointment, she don take over from Isa Chiroma (SAN) for four years. Odusote no just dey chop money o, she carry plenty qualifications sharp for head. She don dey work for the school since 2001 as lecturer, dem fit call am veteran for the game! From then, she don waka go various levels, go reach Deputy Director General and Head of the Lagos campus. Na where she dey manage the busy center wey sabi plenty wahala.
Odusote get intact academic background wey go make people respect am well well. She don collect Bachelor of Laws for Obafemi Awolowo University, call to Bar for 1988. She no stop there, she still go collect Master of Laws degree for Company and Commercial Law, before she end am with PhD for Law from University of Surrey for UK. Na the way she dey carry law smartly fit make am the best person for this position.
As she don enter this new position, many people dey expect plenty change because of wetin she don achieve before. Her appointment no be only about her, e dey shine light on gender inclusion for Nigeria legal space. Na big motivation for the young girls wey dey aspire to be lawyers. Na sign say everybody sabi say talent, merit, and diversity dey trump gender in leadership roles.
Now wey she don start the new journey, we dey hope say Odusote go mix her experience and fresh ideas well well, e go build on top the Law School legacy. She gatz prepare the next generation of lawyers to face the fast changing world wey dey come. Na so we dey watch as history dey unfold for the Nigerian Law School!
