My people, as January 15 don come again, na time wey we fit remember our fallen heroes wey don give everything for this our country. Naija House of Representatives don gather for Abuja to pay big tribute to all the soldiers wey don sacrifice their life to keep our unity and defend our land.
Dem dey mark the Armed Forces Remembrance Day wey no be just normal day, e be like ceremony of gratitude. Dem lawmakers talk say this day na chance for Naija people to reflect on the sacrifices wey these warriors don make, both those wey don go and those wey still dey fight for our security.
Minority caucus don come out with statement wey dem say na everywhere dey serious, as dem hail the bravery of our military. Dem acknowledge say dem soldiers dey struggle everyday against terrorism, kidnapping and banditry, and that na serious wahala wey dey disturb our peace.
As dem dey respect the fallen heroes, lawmakers also tell government make dem no just stop for words, dem need put action for ground to make soldiers welfare better, give dem better equipment to fight insurgents and protect us well.
The statement wey the Minority Leader, Kingsley Chinda, sign, talk say we must show appreciation wey go pass just waka go lay wreath for ground. E go need say we fit give soldiers better tools and motivation to carry their work well. Dem talk say we need strong military to protect lives and properties for everywhere for Naija.
Dem lawmakers no forget say, e no be only soldiers wey dey support this fight, but their families too dey pay price. Dem also call on all Naija people make we dey support our troops, because wetin dem dey do for the country, na for all of us.
Also, the ceremony dey collect root back to World Wars and the Naija Civil War, where many lives don lost wey make us appreciate this day even more. January 15 na day wey we fit remember all the gallant men and women wey don lay down their life for our peace.
Nobody wan talk say we dey forget this brave act, as the day don turn tradition to dey honor and respect those wey don serve, both active and retired. Wreath-laying, military parades, and prayers dey happen everywhere across the country.
As security issues still dey face us, this remembrance day come as reminder say our soldiers still dey fight day and night to protect us. Naija, make we no forget to show love to our soldiers. Tomorrow fit be us or our loved ones!
