These protesters no just sit down; dem pull down campaign billboards wey dem don set for the upcoming 2027 elections. Meanwhile, video wey dey fly for social media show youths dey run things for livestock market, turn am to battle ground. Cows just dey waka about like say dem no get owner, while dem dey butcher some goats wey be ’small collateral damage’ for the cause.
One resident wey no wan show face yan say e don dey hard for farmers to enter farm again because of this wicked kidnapping wahala. People dey fear too much, and wahala no dey allow dem make any meaningful living.
Na the Edo State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Kassim Afegbua, come talk say nobody go fit quench this ogbonge nonsense without calm head. He urge dem to cool down and no make matter escalate from fire to inferno because dem dey fear say e fit affect other towns too.
Meanwhile, the governor of Edo State, Governor Monday Okpebholo, don waka go Ekpoma to meet with people and talk better things wey go fit bring peace back. He also give dem assurance sey him government dey find ways to tackle the kidnapping wahala, say dem don even spend money on better security equipment.

Meanwhile, Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) don throway commendation to residents of Ekpoma wey carry out peaceful protest — dem dey fight for their lives, no be easy thing. HURIWA don talk sey the government dey take time before dem go respond to terrorist actions wey dey happen everywhere, especially in northern Nigeria, where dem dey abduct school children like say dem dey collect souvenirs.
