Wetin dey happen for Edo State? As some residents for Ekpoma don organize protest because kidnappers don dey too much, the government don waka come talk their own side of the matter.
According to Kassim Afegbua, wey be Commissioner for Information and Strategy, dem no go sit down quietly make dem dey block road again. E talk say such protest no dey help anybody, instead e fit make matter worse.
Dem don block roads and cause wahala after dem find the body of one youth wey dem suspect say kidnappers don kill. As the protest dey hot, even tire wey dem burn follow make roads jam. Na serious level be this oh!
Afegbua still yan say Governor Monday Okpebholo dey work hand in hand with security agencies to make sure say Ekpoma dey safe. He believes say community collaboration and sharing intelligence na the way forward, no be this one wey people dey protest dey burn tire. E make everybody know say these uncoordinated protests fit distract the security forces wey dey try manage the situation.
“We understand say people dey vex,” he talk, “but the government dey try its best to listen to concerns. We need calm and order before we fit find solution.”
One resident wey no wan show face tell PUNCH say na the youth body wey dem find make dem vex so. Kidnapping don become wahala for Ekpoma; farmers no fit go farm, and people dey live for fear. E dey hurt to see such happenings in our community.
On top that, the principal security officer to Governor Okpebholo, Austin Eigbiremolen, talk say dem go send enough security to Ekpoma to chase away the kidnappers. “No wahala, we no go allow this kidnapping continue,” he assure.
The Edo Police spokesman, Eno Ikoedem, no dey sleep as she talk say nine persons wey dem kidnap don rescue safe after dem use Eagle Combat Drone wey dey show dem wetin dey happen for ground. Two guns wey dem use join kidnapping don dey abandon too, while the victims come back home with no wahala.
Na wah, the fact say technology dey help police for modern world na correct news for us. E go make dem fit tackle security matter better inside Edo State.
The protest plus all dis wahala don disrupt market movement and even campaign posters for next year’s election don suffer small small. I no sabi how e go be for the residents of Ekpoma to gather things back again.
Meanwhile, Ambrose Alli University president quickly disowned the protesting students, say dem no be registered students of the school. According to their information boss, Mike Ade Aladenika, dem no fit represent the school for any protest wey concern kidnapping because dem no belong to the school community.
Aladenika come warn say anyone wey try cause trouble fit face the music. “This protest wey dem do na null and void; make all students focus on their studies,” him emphasize.
As the wahala dey continue, one thing we go fit learn na say, for security matter, calmness and coordination dey very very important. We go continue dey follow dis story well well as e dey unfold. Show love for your community, my people!
