Na Saturday, townspeople waka come out to show say dem no go gree for insecurity wey dey disturb dem. Dem block road while dey dey face the wahala wey happen after dem lose one young guy for Friday night as e be say dem carry am go meet Baba God.
But you know as e be for Naija, when some boys dey vex, dem no dey stop for anything. As dem dey protest, one group of angry youths decide say dem go chase away Hausa traders wey dey sell for livestock market. Na so dem begin slaughter goats like dem dey chop pepper soup for party!
People wey dey video the whole matter show how market don turn market of confusion! Traders dey run like say lion don enter, while some cows dey waka for road as if dem no sabi say na chaotic scene dem dey.
As usual, police dey try their best to restore law and order. Di Edo State Police Command come drop statement to clarify wetin really happen after everybody begin talk talk. Di CP, Monday Agbonika, fit communicate with community leaders before di protest even start, to warn dem say na better way dem go fit express dem mind.
But when di protest begin, e no fit calm down. Dem say Area Commander arrange police and every other security body to manage di situation but the youth no wan hear word at all.
Wahala come burst when some military personnel wan show strength by firing gun at protesters. One young man, Osagie Abraham, don dey receive treatment for hospital after dem shoot am. Na serious matter o! Dem don identify di military guy wey carry di gun, and dem go face disciplinary action.
Di police say dem don catch some of di hooligans wey dey cause violence, looting, and vandalism. E no sweet dem for mouth. Dem dey investigate to make sure say dem no go free. Na crime for Naija no be play.
Di CP talk say citizens get right to protest, but make e dey peaceful o, no be say dem go dey disturb other people wey just dey mind dem business. Na serious matter we dey face, and eh, di commissioner don promise say dem go dey boost security with intelligence-led operations and patrols all over.
Di Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Kassim Afegbua, join body call for peace. E even talk say Governor Monday Okpebholo don waka go Ekpoma go appeal to di people make dem calm down. “No be by anger, we fit solve anything. Make we no dey cause trouble for our own people,” e talk. Na true talk wey e talk o!
