Na wah o! Rivers State House of Assembly don bring out their gavel over serious matter wey dey ground.
Dem don talk say some people wan use court order collect their power make dem no fit do wetin dem suppose do. Na Dr Enemi George, wey be the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Petitions and Complaints, talk this one as e happen for Port Harcourt.
According to the talk wey dem drop, dem suspect say people dey plan to go get ex parte order from one High Court wey dey outside Port Harcourt. Dis one fit stop dem from performing dem constitutional duties. Wetin concern us here be say, na last week Thursday, dem don start the impeachment process for Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, based on gists of gross misconduct wey dey cloud dem matter.
The lawmakers don clear say dis kind move no go waka, e go just end as dead on arrival. Dem talk say make nobody try to upturn wetin constitution talk since e go only mean say dem dey try to subvert the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria.
George no carry last as e talk say dem no suppose dey do all dis “underhand moves.” All the people wey dey involved in dis matter suppose face the allegations wey dem don serve dem. E mean say make dem respond to the notice wey dey before dem, no be to dey run from e go make matter worse.
E come dey clear say, ‘The Rivers State House of Assembly don receive message wey dey ring bell for ears say some people wan use some courts for Rivers to try and issue ex parte orders to stop us.’ Dis one no go gree, because as Section 272(3) of the Constitution yan, na Federal High Court get power to decide if anybody term don finish or if dem dey vacant.
Also, Section 188(10) talk say anything wey concern the Assembly and their proceedings no suppose enter court matter at all. Dem as don dey aware of wetin courts don talk before about this kind issues, dem still no wan hear word. Na wah!
The Assembly now don call dem wey dey back this wahala to calm down and respect the Constitution and law wey dey govern us.
George still carry mouth talk say, ‘All the office holders wey dey face allegations, make dem just answer dem issue by issue, no join negative things wey go put dirt for our brand in the media.’ E go better make dem face dem wahala squarely.
As e be now, dem dey stay loyal to Constitution and rule of law. Na so e be. Blessings go follow Rivers State and Nigeria, as dem work on top dis matter.
Meanwhile, gist don reach us say Fubara don land from him trip outside the country, and as him enter Port Harcourt, him don join di 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day service for St Cyprian’s Church, alongside him deputy. Na so dis political yarn dey hot for Rivers.
