My people, e be like say wahala don show for Ondo State as resident doctors don waka come out talk say dem dey ready to go on strike. Na the Association of Resident Doctors, Federal Medical Centre, Owo chapter, wey dey make this noise, and dem don call Federal Government make dem do something sharp, otherwise, healthcare matter go turn mess for Naija.
Na on Saturday, the chairman of the ARD-FMC Owo, Dada Tosin, carry gist come after dem hold emergency meeting for Friday. E talk say NARD, wey be the national body of resident doctors, don give government four weeks to follow through on wetin dem agree on since November 2025, but as e be, dem no see any serious action. Dem dey complain say welfare no dey okay, unpaid arrears dey on ground, and training dey face serious wahala.
Inside statement wey dem drop, dem talk say this strike go dey total; no half measures at all. Dem say dem no go call off strike until dem meet nine minimum demands wey dey their list. Dis demands involve reinstating doctors wey dem sack anyhow for FTH Lokoja, making sure salary and promotion arrears wey dey range from three to nine months go clear, plus make dem get full implementation of professional allowance table. Dem still join other issues wey dey ground.
ARD-FMC Owo also make am clear say dem dey back NARD fully. Dem no wan make any gbagam, because dem dey protect the welfare, dignity, and working conditions for all the doctors wey dey under dem. Omo, if government no fit wake up quick-quick, e fit lead to serious breakdown for healthcare delivery for Naija. Na wetin dem dey talk o!
But, e no only dem dey look for quick solution. As healthcare act dey gree weak, pesin fit shout, ‘Wetin dey happen?’ My people, how we go survive if the doctors get strike mean say people no go fit see doctor when dem sick? Na so health dey suffer, and e get as e go affect everybody. We no wan make am reach that point.
So, make we dey observe wetin go happen in the coming days, because if dem no see serious talk from government, we go dey look as doctor strike turn our matter for health sector upside down. Naija fit do better than this, abeg!
