No be small thing o! Federal Government don graduate over 7,000 new Forest Guards wey go sabi secure our forest areas from terrorists, bandits and all dem bad guys wey dey mess up everywhere. Dis graduation na latest sharp move wey government dey make to take back our forests and ensure safety for we obodo.
Dem guards, after three months of serious training under Presidential Forest Guards Initiative wey President Bola Ahmed Tinubu launch for May 2025, don finally complete their program. Na everywhere for Borno, Sokoto, Yobe, Adamawa, Niger, Kwara, and Kebbi states na where dem host the graduation ceremonies on December 27, 2025.
National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, come talk sey dis initiative go help improve Nigeria’s security situation. E make everybody no sey dem guards no be just ordinary people wey dey wear uniform. Dem go be first responders, community protectors, and dem go dey hold ground for the communities to gather intelligence and help other security agencies to take back areas wey criminal don take over.
No wahala dey like that na! E confirm sey dem go deploy these new guards sharply once dem finish graduation without wasting time. E even promise sey dem salaries go start to dey drop sharp sharp, make dem no feel say dem dey miss anything.
Training no be play o! E strong well-well, wey combine physical fitness, tactics, and lessons on how to protect the environment as well. Dem dey teach dem how to move, respond to ambush, and carry out rescue operations so dey fit tackle criminal wey dey use the forest for hide and seek.
Dem also put plenty attention on ethics and professionalism; dem train dem on human rights, gender rights, and how to protect civilians. Na serious business for here, we must dey do am right, abeg!
As e be, out of all the recruits, dem record 98.2% completion rate, wey no be small matter. Some few recruits were disqualified for disciplinary issues, and sadly, two people pass away because dem get pre-existing conditions. All dem wey pass don receive their certificate and don clear for operational service.
The strategy na to recruit dem from their local government areas so dem go sabi the terrain well, build trust with the communities, and sabi how to tackle banditry and illegal use of forest resources. Ribadu, during the ceremony, talk say dis na major step to secure our territory and protect our people.
Governors and deputy governors from the states wey dey participate for dis project also attend the graduation, including Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni. Ribadu assure sey federal government go continue to expand dis initiative nationwide to catch dem bad guys wey dey disturb peace for our land.
