For press conference wey happen for Lekki refinery, Dangote comot hat say dem don reduce gantry price from N828 to N699 per litre just two days before the main gist drop. E no dey laugh at all as e promise say dem go enforce this low price well. “If you get your truck, rush come buy, we dey sell am at N699. Na correct price for petrol be that!” he talk go journalists.
Dangote no just stop there! E dey vex for some filling stations wey dey maintain high pump prices to spoil government plans. “Those wey wan sabotage us, we go fight dem well-well, because N970 wey dem dey collect no be wetin we dey talk for here,” e add.
Him also tell people wey belong to Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) say make dem come collect fuel for N699. E even lower the minimum purchase from two million litres to 500,000 litres to make sure say everybody fit buy fuel without wahala.
“We dey work hard to deliver this fuel straight to everywhere wey people need am. Anywhere wey you dey, we go make sure you get am for better price!” Dangote affirm.
Meanwhile, people wey dey use the fuel dey happy as dem don dey see long queues for MRS stations all over Lagos as dem change price from N885 to N739. Commuters and business owners don turn to jolly jolly people as petrol price don finally reduce. Adejare Israel, wey be commuter, talk say this na major relief for dem, especially as festive season dey reach.
But no be everybody dey happy like that! Some petrol importers dey complain say this price war fit affect dem. Dangote no gree hear word. Him yan, “If you still dey import fuel even when we dey produce here, no wahala! Market go decide wetin go happen.”
As dat one dey happen, Dangote talk say naija people supposed enjoy local refining wey dey give better quality fuel compared to wetin dem dey import from abroad. “Na better quality fuel we dey sell, so make you choose! E go good for your motor,” e declare.
Finally, he don promise say di refinery go make use of CNG trucks to deliver fuel everywhere wey e dey need am. Just this mornin, checks show say dem don start to sell petrol for N739 per litre at some stations like AA Rano and Bovas too, so e fit be say fuel price don really drop everywhere. “Na good news for everybody!”
