One tragic incident wey happen for Enugu State dey shake plenty people. Chikwado Eze, a 26-year-old man who get visa to travel abroad, die during a botched fortification ritual. According to reports, Chikwado return to his village to share the good news with his father, Mr. Uwakwe Eze, but things take a terrible turn.
Mr. Uwakwe Eze insist say his son must do one ritual to ensure his success overseas, so he take Chikwado to a native doctor named Enuwa Odugu. The native doctor claim say Chikwado must be buried alive for 1 hour and 30 minutes to be properly fortified. But when dem exhume Chikwado after the stipulated time, dem find am dead.
The Enugu State Police Command don arrest the native doctor, Enuwa Odugu, and Chikwado’s father, Uwakwe Eze, for conspiracy and murder. DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, confirm the incident in a statement. He say the native doctor confess to the crime and other previous performances of such rituals, blaming the death on Chikwado’s non-adherence to certain ritualistic rules.
The case dey under investigation, and the suspects will be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded. This incident raise serious concerns about the dangers of such rituals and the need for proper oversight and regulation.
