Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky don dey beg his allies make dem no stop dem support, as Ukraine dey struggle to end the war with Russia quickly. Zelensky recently go on 48-hour trip to London, Paris, Rome, and Berlin to seek more military and financial aid from European countries.
Zelensky deny say ceasefire with Russia dey under discussion. For Paris, after meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, Zelensky tell journalists say no ceasefire talk dey happen. Instead, dem discuss strategy for the coming weeks and months, and Macron reaffirm France’s support for Ukrainian resistance against Russian invasion.
In Rome, Zelensky meet with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and dem agree say Rome go host the next “recovery conference” for Ukraine’s reconstruction in July 2025. Meloni assure Zelensky say “Ukraine is not alone and we will stand with it for as long as needed”.
Zelensky also meet with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin, where Scholz pledge new military aid package worth 1.4 billion euros for Ukraine. This aid go include air defense systems, tanks, combat drones, and artillery. Scholz emphasize say Germany‘s support for Ukraine no go diminish next year.
Zelensky stress say Ukraine desperately need more aid to fight back against Russia, especially as Russia dey launch strikes on Ukraine’s power grid and advance across the eastern frontline. He also push for clearance to use long-range weapons supplied by allies to strike military targets deep inside Russia, but Washington and London dey cautious about dis because of fear of direct conflict with Russia.
The upcoming US presidential election also dey cause concern, as there be fear say if Donald Trump win, Western military and financial aid to Ukraine might reduce significantly. Zelensky hope say the war go end “no later than next year, 2025”.
