Wike Dey Call Investors Come Invest for FCT, As Soludo Dey Promote Made-in-Nigeria Goods

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has made a strong appeal to investors to consider the numerous opportunities available in Abuja. Wike made this call during the maiden Abuja Business and Investment Summit, which was themed “Optimising Investments through Partnership” and held at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja on Wednesday.

Wike highlighted that Abuja is not just the political capital of Nigeria but also a hub of investment opportunities across various sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, tourism, construction, mining, and renewable energy. He emphasized that the FCT administration has been working hard to create an enabling environment for both local and foreign investors by prioritizing infrastructure development and the provision of utilities.

“Abuja is not just the political capital of Nigeria; it is a place of opportunities waiting to be harnessed. Our unique position, strategic location, and growing population create a fertile ground for investment across various sectors,” Wike said. He also announced that his administration will be flagging off nine major projects in the coming week to further enhance investment opportunities in the FCT.

In a related development, the Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo, who was also present at the summit, championed the support for made-in-Nigeria products. Soludo stressed that promoting local goods is crucial for driving massive investments across all sectors of the economy. He shared his personal experience of using Nigerian products, including driving an Innoson vehicle and wearing Akwete cloth made by women in Abia State.

Soludo emphasized the importance of education as a sustainable investment, noting that empowering the population through education will secure the collective investment in the country. “The sustainability of our investments is in our enlightened self-interest. Make sure that we empower everybody and leave people for everything. That way, we can secure our investment,” he stated.
