WEST BROMWICH, England — West Bromwich Albion end their five-match winless streak with a much-needed 2-1 victory over Watford in a critical Championship clash on Saturday.
The home team took control early, with striker Karlan Grant netting the opening goal just 15 minutes in, marking his first goal since December 29. Grant scored after a slick assist from Tom Fellows, showcasing clinical finishing that the Baggies desperately needed.
Watford’s Edo Kayembe nearly equalized before halftime, striking the post from distance, leaving the Hornets frustrated. West Brom then doubled their lead in the second half as Mikey Johnston slotted home another assist from Fellows, putting them 2-0 up before Moussa Sissoko pulled one back for Watford later in the game.

With this victory, West Brom climb up the standings but face a tough challenge ahead. Watford, now sitting in 11th place, see their slim play-off hopes dwindle after suffering their 12th loss of the season.
Watford’s boss, Tom Cleverley, noted the missed chances that could have changed the game’s outcome. “In such close matches, taking your opportunities is vital,” he commented. “We needed to be more clinical.”
