UNILORIN Hausa Program Get Interim Approval, Igbo Full Accreditation Na Win!

ILORIN, Nigeria — National Universities Commission (NUC) don grant interim accreditation status to Hausa language program wey dey for University of Ilorin. Dis na result of NUC accreditation exercise wey happen for October/November 2024.

Letter wey dey dated April 30, 2025, confirm the outcome, as e address am to Vice Chancellor, Professor Wahab Egbewole (SAN). Letter sign by Acting Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu on behalf of NUC Executive Secretary, Professor Abdullahi Ribadu.

University present 37 academic courses for evaluation during de exercise and the NUC award full accreditation to 36, Hausa language program na de only one wey dey receive interim approval.

Among di other accredited programs na courses from Education, Engineering and Technology, Management Sciences, Basic Medical Sciences, Communication and Information Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, and Arts.

According to Daily Trust report, NUC accreditation process na quality assurance mechanism wey dey assess Nigerian university programs based on standards like academic content, staffing, infrastructure, and overall program viability.
