UBA Don Blow Mind with N335.53 Billion Profit, E No Dey Play!

City, Nigeria – UBA no dey dull as e don announce dia half-year financial results wey show say dem get profit after tax (PAT) of N335.53 billion. This one na 6.06% increase from the N316.36 billion wey dem make for the same period last year, 2024. Na wetin dem report to Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on Thursday.

Oliver Alawuba, wey be UBA’s Group Managing Director/CEO, talk say dis performance na clear sign of di bank’s strong business model and wetin make dem dey shine even for tough times (who say no be struggle?)! He add say, “We don deliver strong double-digit earnings growth across our markets, as PAT dey rise year-on-year to N335 billion. This one fit show say we dey strong for market and our strategy dey work well.”

Alawuba also yan about di bank’s capital-raising plans. He mention say Phase I of dia Rights Issue wey inject N234.3 billion don complete successfully. Phase II dey run now to make sure say dem fit comply with new capital requirements by year-end. Na serious matter o!

Ugo Nwaghodoh, wey be UBA’s Executive Director of Finance & Risk Management, explain say di Group’s topline growth dey push by strong interest income and better net interest margins. E talk say, “Deposits don expand by 11.9% to N27.5 trillion, wey dey support balance sheet growth to N33.3 trillion, while shareholders’ funds don increase 23.3% to N4.22 trillion. E still dey important to note say our capital adequacy and liquidity ratios dey well above regulatory thresholds.” (E be like say dem sabi how to keep dem self safe).

For wetin remain of 2025, UBA plan to dey pursue more market expansion, better efficiency, digital-led income streams, and of course, dem go dey manage risk with sense.
