Abuja, Nigeria – Na so President Bola Tinubu enter ground on Friday, October 24, as e sack all the service chiefs wey dey run the military show for Naija. This one na big move to re-arrange as dem decipher say security matter dey need serious attention (nobody wan hear say another coup don dey creep in o!).
According to the statement Wey Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, release, Tinubu appoint General Olufemi Oluyede as the new Chief of Defence Staff, wey don take over from General Christopher Musa. Major-General W. Shaibu dey represent the Army now, while Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke don take charge for Air Force side. Rear Admiral I. Abbas na the new naval chief, but Major-General E.A.P. Undiendeye go still dey hold him ground as Chief of Defence Intelligence (abi you think say dem go just dash am jara?).
Tinubu talk say him dey grateful to the outgoing service chiefs for their loyal service, but na time for new strategy to dey fly come. The pressure wey dey build everywhere don make wetin dem dey call for change finally land for ground. Na wetin dem dey yan for the last couple of weeks naim make this reshuffle happen sharp-sharp.
“All appointments take immediate effect,” na wetin the statement talk. This move dey come as plenty people dey shout for security improvement since dem dey fight terrorism, banditry, and all those wahala wey dey waka for our fine country (no be small matter). The outgoing chiefs don dey there since June 2023 and despite some small gains, dem no fit turn the tide. So, Tinubu dey hope say this new crew go come bring better vibes and energy to tackle the naija security wahala.
With Oluyede’s plenty experience for joint operations and counterterrorism, we fit chop small hope say dem go fit take this matter serious (let’s just pray say dem no dey play play). So, as dem don start work, we dey expect say dem go show say dem fit carry the military to cloud nine instead of waiting for bad news to drop.
